They built us an amazing custom library! We could not be happier with their work and they actually got the project done on schedule! From there, I had them out to our office for some additional projects.
We build quality homes on efficient timelines. Here’s what the process looks like from groundbreaking to move-in.
Estimated total: 36-43 weeks
Excavation and septic installation, followed by footings and foundation pours. Includes damp proofing, window wells, and backfilling to ensure a stable base.
Lumber, trusses, and exterior windows and doors go in. This stage brings the structure to life with walls, roof, and the basic frame of the home.
Plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC, and fireplaces are installed. Inspections verify everything meets code before walls close up.
Roofing, siding, and exterior concrete work including driveways and patios. Final grading and landscaping prepare the outside for a polished, completed look.
Cabinetry, countertops, tile, and flooring go in, followed by painting and fixture installation. This stage adds personality and style, aligning with your vision.
Final walkthrough to address any imperfections, paint and drywall touch-ups, and deep cleaning. Your home is flawless and move-in ready.
It depends on the size, design, finishes, and site conditions. Every home is different, so we don’t publish a flat per-square-foot number. What we do instead is walk through your wish list together, get real pricing on each piece, and build a budget you feel confident in before any work begins. No guessing, no ballpark surprises three months in. Every custom home we build in Utah is priced around your specific plan, lot, and finish selections, not a generic estimate pulled from somewhere else.
Once we break ground, most of our builds take around 36 to 43 weeks. The design phase before that varies quite a bit. Some clients come to us knowing exactly what they want and move through design in a few weeks. Others take a few months to explore options, and that’s completely fine. We’d rather you take the time to get it right than rush into decisions you’ll second-guess later.
The biggest savings come from keeping your design simple and efficient. A straightforward roofline, a compact footprint, and standard-sized windows can save tens of thousands without making the home feel any less special. We also recommend prioritizing the things you’ll see and touch every day (countertops, flooring, fixtures) and going with solid mid-range options where it won’t matter as much, like interior door hardware or garage finishes.
Foundation, roofing, insulation, electrical, and plumbing. These are the things buried inside your walls and under your floors. If something goes wrong with any of them, fixing it later is expensive and disruptive. Utah’s climate adds extra stakes here, like freeze/thaw cycles and heavy snow loads in many parts of the state put real stress on roofing and insulation year after year. We always recommend investing in quality here because it protects everything else you’re putting into the home.
It can be if you’re working with the wrong team. Our job is to make sure it isn’t. We keep you updated at every stage, help you make the big decisions before construction starts, and set realistic expectations about timelines and costs from day one. Most of our clients tell us the process was actually enjoyable, which is the whole point. You should be excited about building your home, not anxious about it.
Nope. Some of our clients come to us with land already purchased, and others are still looking. We’re happy to help with the search. Having a builder’s perspective early on can actually save you from buying a lot that looks great but has expensive site challenges hiding beneath the surface.
Sometimes, yes. Small changes are usually manageable if we catch them early enough. Bigger changes can affect the timeline and budget, so we always walk you through what a change order would mean before moving forward. That said, the more decisions we lock in during the design phase, the smoother everything goes once we’re building.
Move-in ready. Pick from what's on the market and make it work for you.
Start with a proven floor plan, then put your stamp on the details that matter most.
Designed from scratch around your life. Every detail is yours to decide.
None. You're buying as-is and making cosmetic updates after closing.
Moderate. You'll choose from a set of pre-approved options for layout tweaks, finishes, and fixtures.
Complete. You'll work with an architect to design every room, angle, and detail from the ground up.
Fixed. What you see is what you get.
Pick from existing plans with room for modifications, like adding a bedroom or adjusting room sizes.
Built entirely around how you live. Open concept, multi-gen suites, home offices, whatever your family needs.

Choose from curated packages for countertops, cabinetry, flooring, and paint colors within a defined selection.
Unlimited choices. Hand-select every material from foundation to fixtures, or let our design team guide you through it.
Limited to what's listed. You may end up compromising on lot size, orientation, or neighborhood.
Typically within a specific development or community, with some flexibility if multiple lots are available.
Build anywhere. Bring your own lot or let us help you find the perfect one across Utah.
The fastest route. You can close in 30 to 60 days, though renovations to make it feel like yours can add months.
Faster than full custom. Fewer decisions upfront means a shorter design phase and quicker groundbreaking.
About 36 to 43 weeks from breaking ground, plus a design phase that moves at whatever pace feels right for you.
The purchase price is clear upfront, but hidden repair costs and renovation surprises are common with older homes.
More predictable. A base price plus your selected upgrades keeps costs structured and easy to follow.
Fully flexible. We work with you to align every decision to your investment range so there are no surprises along the way.
A good fit if you need to move quickly and you're okay with trade-offs on personalization.
