Roots Builders didn’t begin on a jobsite. It began in the world of real estate finance.
After studying finance at BYU, I worked at a firm that funded builders and developers across the Mountain West. From that seat, I saw hundreds of projects cross our desk. And the patterns were hard to ignore: owners frustrated by poor communication and lack of transparency, and finished product that didn’t match the workmanship or finish quality their clients were promised.
The deeper I got into the industry, the more obvious the gap became. Utah had plenty of builders; what it lacked were builders who communicated clearly, managed expectations honestly, and delivered craftsmanship that actually reflected the investment families were making. I realized the problems weren’t unsolvable. They were structural, cultural, and fixable.
That’s where the idea for Roots Builders came from.
When we launched in 2021, our mission was simple: build homes with the clarity of a finance team, the craftsmanship of seasoned trades, and the heart of a family who understands what a home truly means. We brought the discipline of real-estate underwriting into construction — transparent budgets, clear expectations, proactive communication, and a commitment to delivering exactly what’s promised.
Today, every project we take on is personal. We approach each home as if our own family were moving in — designing, planning, and building with intention. Our goal isn’t just to be another builder in Utah. Our goal is to raise the standard for what a custom homebuilding experience should feel like: organized, honest, and deeply rooted in trust.

Originally from Idaho Falls, Creed brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role as CEO of Roots Builders. After serving a two-year mission in Costa Rica for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Creed attended BYU, where he earned a degree in Finance while playing football. The hard work and discipline he learned through athletics shaped his approach to homebuilding, instilling the importance of perseverance and attention to detail.
With a Master’s in Real Estate Development from the University of Utah and over 50 homes built in his career, Creed is deeply committed to making his client’s dreams a reality. His passion for building relationships of trust drives him, believing that truly understanding his client’s needs is the foundation of every great project. His integrity and hands-on experience ensure that every home built by Roots Builders is crafted with care, dedication, and a personal touch.
Cael, studying Construction Management at BYU, embodies a genuine passion for building. His eagerness to learn, improve, and take on new challenges makes him the perfect fit as Head of Construction at Roots Builders. Cael is set apart by his love for the job. Whether he’s on-site ensuring smooth operations or brainstorming ways to enhance each project, his attention to detail and positive energy inspire everyone around him.
Christy brings her passion for home design and family-centered living to Roots Builders. A former teacher, she has a unique eye for creating beautiful spaces where families can grow and thrive. While being a mom is her top priority, Christy’s love for design drives her to craft homes that are functional and inspiring. Inspired by visionaries like Shea McGee and Julia Marcum, who turned their side passions into full-blown careers, Christy excels in organization, time management, and bargain hunting. Her goal is to help you create a space that not only looks beautiful but truly feels like home.
