We collaborated closely with the Gronnings to design a space that would perfectly cater to their love for their furry family members.
Challenges
A major challenge presented was unstable soil conditions in the area. The loose, sandy ground posed risks for structural integrity, making it essential for us to implement reliable solutions while maintaining our focus on sustainable homes that ensure safety and longevity.
Solutions
We utilized structural fill to raise the lot, effectively mitigating potential slides. We brought in specialized gravel to establish a solid foundation. Although this was not part of the initial plan, we successfully implemented this solution within budget, ensuring the Gronnings’ dream home was built on a stable base.
What’s Unique?
We designed this home to be pet friendly with comfort and functionality in mind. It has expansive sliding glass doors, large in-wall dog doors, and a convenient dog bath in the laundry room—complete with steps and a showerhead for ease. Our pet friendly features ensure that the needs of every family member, including pets, are met with care and quality.
